Running 250km in a month

At some point after I publish this blog post, I'm going to go out for a run and tick over 250km for the month.

This is the most I've ever ran and it's not a lot, but it's a good step to training for my ultramarathons.

Before December, the most I had done in a month was 152km and that included my 52km ultramarathon. I'm not very good at keeping consistent and so this distance dropped off for a bit.

When I got to Chiang Mai just over a month ago, I figured I should probably start ramping it back up. I started to run much slower than I normally would but that's allowed me to do it all without beating my body up.

Last week I went out and did 30km. I ran 4 times a week on average -- a number I think suited me well. I would love to run more but this body needs rest.

I'm glad I was in Chiang Mai as I don't think I would have been able to keep up the distance in the places I've visited so far. In early January I am heading to Kuala Lumpur so we'll see what it's like to run there. Worse case, I'll do another 250km on a treadmill.

In all seriousness, I think my weekly target will be around 40 miles (64km), but we'll see how that goes.
